U sklopu inicijative „Žene i sigurnost? Prirodno, skroz!“, koju finansira Evropska unija, Centar za sigurnosne studije (CSS), u suradnji s Centrom za interdisciplinarne studije Univerziteta u Sarajevu prof. dr. Zdravko Grebo (CIS), organizirao je razgovor s Nj. E. g.

Ovaj razgovor još jednom je potvrdio predanost CSS-a i partnerskih institucija unaprjeđenju interdisciplinarnog pristupa istraživanju sigurnosnih izazova, promoviranju rodne inkluzivnosti i jačanju regionalne saradnje u kontekstu evropskih integracija.

GESOSS BiH: Conversation with the Hungarian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Krisztián Pósa

As part of the initiative “Women and Security? Naturally, Completely!” funded by the European Union, the Center for Security Studies (CSS), in collaboration with the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Zdravko Grebo (CIS), organized a conversation with H.E. Mr. Krisztián Pósa, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event, focusing on UN Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, and Security,” was held on February 11, 2025, at the CIS premises

In his opening remarks, the President of CSS, Mr. Denis Hadžović, introduced the participants to the initiative and the purpose of the event. This was followed by an address from Mr. Alessandro De Giacomo, Political Officer and Focal Point for Human Rights at the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, who emphasized the importance of UN Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, and Security” from a human rights perspective. Representing CIS, Professor Armin Kržalić, Head of the Master’s Program in International and Regional Security, welcomed the attendees and highlighted that we live in a time of global challenges, ranging from geopolitical tensions to new security threats, which demand inclusion, dialogue, thoughtful responses, and international cooperation.

Following these introductory remarks, a conversation with Ambassador Pósa was moderated by the CSS Secretary-General, Mr. Benjamin Plevljak. The dialogue provided valuable insights into the position of women within governmental institutions and the security sector in Hungary. It also underscored the priorities of Hungary’s presidency of the EU Council, including support for the European integration process of the Western Balkans and the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary.

The event concluded with informal networking, offering participants an opportunity to deepen their connections and continue discussions on strategically significant topics. This conversation once again affirmed CSS’s and its partner institutions’ commitment to advancing an interdisciplinary approach to researching security challenges, promoting gender inclusivity, and strengthening regional cooperation within the framework of European integration.

The initiative “Women and Security? Naturally, Completely!” is funded by the European Union and implemented by CSS as the lead organization, along with our partner organizations, the Policewomen Network Association (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the Centre for European Security Studies (Groningen, Netherlands).
