Experts from the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Affairs from Slovakia, and Centre for Security Studies, Sarajevo organised a seminar titled „Role of Civil Society in Euro-Atlantic Integration – Slovak Experience“, on 30th of September 2011 at Hotel Bosnia in Sarajevo. The aim of the seminar was to share the experiences from Slovakia during the integration process towards the Euro-Atlantic structures, as well as to foster and strengthen regional stability and cooperation between the relevant experts and institutions from Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Slovak counterparts pointed towards the overall significance of a safe and secure environment, mainly as a member of NATO, which can greatly contribute towards foreign investments. Aside from ensuring a safe investment environment, the Slovak experts also highlighted how the new member states are granted new responsibilities and influence which they can exert on the international level.
