Kroz istraživanja i analize, podržava donosioce odluka, jača demokratske institucije i podstiče dijalog.
Prirodno, skroz!“.
Podsjećamo, inicijativu finansira Evropska unija, a implementiraju CSS, kao glavni nosilac, te naše partnerske organizacije Udruženje Mreža policijskih službenica (Sarajevo, BiH) i Centar za evropske sigurnosne studije (Groningen, Nizozemska).

GESOSS BiH – From Idea to Change: Empowering Organizations Through Project Design!
From February 24 to 25, a two-day training on project design was held on Vlašić for two civil society organizations dedicated to advancing the status and safeguarding the human rights of women in our society. The training was made possible through the initiative “Women and Security? Naturally, Completely!” funded by the European Union, aiming to contribute to the sustainability of the work of the Research Center Banja Luka – Think Tank Banja Luka (Republika Srpska entity) and the Association “Sahan” from Vogošća (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity).
The Research Center Banja Luka – Think Tank Banja Luka is a scientific, voluntary, and non-partisan citizens’ association established in 2016. The organization is dedicated to knowledge, justice, and equality. Through research and analysis, it supports decision-makers, strengthens democratic institutions, and fosters dialogue. It places particular emphasis on the protection of women’s rights and vulnerable groups, empowering them through education and advocacy for real social change.
On the other hand, the Association for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and Tradition “Sahan” is a non-governmental organization committed to affirming BiH’s cultural heritage. The association has approximately 100 members and was registered in 2016. Through various project activities, it has implemented initiatives focused on unemployed women, women survivors of violence, and socially vulnerable groups, providing them with training in social and economic empowerment, as well as skills necessary for independent decision-making. By organizing occupational therapy workshops for socially vulnerable groups, the association strives to promote inclusive values and ensure that everyone can be part of a society of equal opportunities.
The training was conceptualized and organized with the support of the Centre for European Security Studies (CESS) from Groningen, Netherlands, which shared its decades-long expertise in project design with the training participants. On the first day of the training, the focus was on context and stakeholder analysis, the foundation of any project design process. This analysis enables an understanding of the environment and the identification of relevant actors, their needs, and interests. Ultimately, the outcome of this analysis is the identification of a specific need or problem that requires resolution.
The second day of training consisted of two sessions. The first session focused on developing a work plan – designing the project based on the identified needs or problems. During this session, participants had the opportunity to practically engage with interdependent concepts such as impact, outcomes, outputs, and activities. The third and final session was dedicated to understanding the context and stakeholders in discussions on gender equality in BiH. Accordingly, the lecturer for this session, Mrs. Samra Filipović Hadžiabdić, Director of the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH, introduced the participants to international standards, national legislation, and specific needs, particularly in the context of EU integration.
At the conclusion of the event, two laptops were donated to the Research Center Banja Luka – Think Tank Banja Luka and “Sahan” Association as part of the initiative “Women and Security? Naturally, Completely!”.
To remind, our initiative is funded by the European Union and implemented by CSS as the main implementer, in partnership with the “Police Women’s Network” Association (Sarajevo, BiH) and the Centre for European Security Studies (Groningen, Netherlands).
