Ovakva inicijativa doprinosi osnaživanju građana da koriste dostupne pravne mehanizme, unapređenju povjerenja u rad policijskih institucija i jačanju demokratske odgovornosti u oblasti sigurnosti.

PRAVA – Protecting Rights through Awareness and Accountability: Correct addresses for submitting complaints in cases of abuse or exceeding police powers
As part of the PRAVA project, we have developed an informational leaflet aimed at informing citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina about the addresses and contact details of complaint boards for reporting the conduct of police officers at all levels of government. The leaflet provides clear and accessible information on where and how complaints can be submitted, thereby facilitating citizens’ access to mechanisms for the protection of their rights.
This material represents an important tool for strengthening transparency and accessibility within the system of civilian oversight of police work, as well as for raising public awareness about existing institutional accountability mechanisms. The information contained in the leaflet is available to citizens in printed form, as well as digitally via the website of the Center for Security Studies (CSS) and through social media platforms, ensuring broad accessibility and enhanced public engagement.
Such an initiative contributes to empowering citizens to use available legal mechanisms, improving trust in police institutions, and reinforcing democratic accountability in the field of security.
We would like to remind that the “PRAVA – Protecting Rights and Awareness through Accountability” project aims to support the development of better relationships between police officers and the communities they serve, which is the foundation of citizens’ trust in police agencies and a crucial condition for an effective response to contemporary security challenges.
You can follow the project’s implementation on our official website and by using the hashtags #CSSBiH, #CanadaFundBiH, and #PRAVA on social media.
We are grateful for Canada’s contribution to this project through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.
