U utorak, 02. marta 2021. godine, potpredsjednik Centra za sigurnosne studije (CSS) profesor Armin Kržalić i generalni sekretar CSS-a Benjamin Plevljak obavili su sastanak s ambasadorom Arapske Republike Egipat u Bosni i Hercegovini (BiH) NJ.E. Yasserom Sorourom.
Na početku veoma ugodnog i konstruktivnog sastanka, koji je održan u egipatskoj ambasadi u Sarajevu, predstavnici CSS-a su poželjeli dobrodošlicu novoimenovanom ambasadoru u BiH, koji je dužnost preuzeo u novembru prošle godine.
Ambasador Sorour upoznao je predstavnike CSS-a da su u prošlom periodu pripadnici odbrambenog i sigurnosnog sektora iz BiH prolazili kroz određene obuke u AR Egipat za potrebe operacija podrške miru Ujedinjenih naroda, kao i u oblasti zaštite VIP ličnosti. Također, tokom sastanka razgovaralo se o potencijalnim modalitetima saradnje u oblasti sigurnosti, posebno između istraživačkih centara dvije prijateljske zemlje, s naglaskom na pitanja ilegalnih migracija, trgovine ljudima i aspektima borbe protiv terorizma.
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CENTRE FOR SECURITY STUDIES HELD A MEETING WITH THE EGYPTIAN AMBASSADOR TO BiH
On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, the Vice President of the Center for Security Studies (CSS), Professor Armin Krzalic, and the Secretary-General of the CSS, Benjamin Plevljak, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), H.E. Yasser Sorour.
At the beginning of a very pleasant and constructive meeting, held at the Egyptian Embassy in Sarajevo, the CSS representatives welcomed the newly appointed ambassador to BiH, who took office in November last year.
Ambassador Sorour informed the CSS representatives that in the past, members of the defense and security sector from BiH underwent certain pieces of training in the AR of Egypt for the needs of United Nations Peacekeeping operations, as well as in the field of VIP protection. Also during the meeting, potential modalities of security co-operation were discussed, especially between the research centers of the two friendly countries, with an emphasis on issues of illegal migration, human trafficking, and various aspects of the fight against terrorism.
