Osamnaestog novembra, u Travniku, uz finansijsku podršku Evropske unije, održan je drugi od ukupno tri treninga za predstavnike zakonodavnih tijela u BiH o nadzoru sektora sigurnosti te agendi „Žene, mir i sigurnost“. Trening je organiziran pod okriljem inicijative „Žene i sigurnost? Prirodno, skroz!“.
Trening je okupio predstavnike Zajedničke komisije za odbranu i sigurnost Parlamentarne skupštine BiH te komisija za sigurnost i ravnopravnost spolova kantonalnih skupština u Federaciji Bosne i Hercegovine. U ime organizatora, trening je otvorio predsjednik Centra za sigurnosne studije (CSS), dr. sc. Denis Hadžović, ujedno i projektni menadžer, kao i gospođa Ljubinka Atanasijević, zamjenica predsjedavajućeg Skupštine Srednjobosanskog kantona, te gospodin Rašid Kasumović, savjetnik u kabinetu općinskog načelnika.
Tokom treninga, učesnici su analizirali ključne aspekte sektora sigurnosti, uključujući njegovo definisanje, upravljanje i nadzor, s naglaskom na inkluzivne pristupe. Facilitatori gospodin Peter Vanhoutte, bivši belgijski parlamentarac, te gospodin Merijn Hartog, direktor Centra za evropske sigurnosne studije, pružili su stručno vodstvo kroz interaktivne diskusije o razvoju inkluzivnog nadzora sektora sigurnosti. Popodnevni dio programa bio je posvećen rodnoj ravnopravnosti i agendi “Žene, mir i sigurnost”, uz predavanje dr. sc. Sandra Knezovića, naučnog savjetnika u Institutu za razvoj i međunarodne odnose u Zagrebu, Hrvatska.
O navedenom treningu, uz informacije distribuirane putem naših komunikacijskih kanala, informacije su prenijeli i određeni mediji, a iste su postavljene i na zvaničnoj stranici Parlamentarne skupštine BiH.

GESOSS BiH: Travnik Hosts Second Training – Strengthening the Gender Perspective in Security Sector Oversight
On 18 November, in Travnik, with the financial support of the European Union, the second of three trainings was held for representatives of legislative bodies in BiH on security sector oversight and the “Women, Peace and Security” agenda. The training was organized under the initiative “Women and Security? Naturally, Completely!”.
The training brought together representatives of the Joint Committee on Defence and Security of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as well as committees on security and gender equality from cantonal assemblies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On behalf of the organizers, the training was opened by the President of the Centre for Security Studies (CSS) and Project Manager, Dr Denis Hadžović, together with Ms Ljubinka Atanasijević, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of the Central Bosnia Canton, and Mr Rašid Kasumović, Adviser in the Office of the Municipal Mayor.
During the training, participants analysed key aspects of the security sector, including its definition, management and oversight, with a particular emphasis on inclusive approaches. Facilitators Mr Peter Vanhoutte, former Belgian parliamentarian, and Mr Merijn Hartog, Director of the Centre for European Security Studies, provided expert guidance through interactive discussions on developing inclusive security sector oversight. The afternoon session focused on gender equality and the “Women, Peace and Security” agenda, featuring a lecture by Dr Sandro Knezović, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Development and International Relations in Zagreb, Croatia.
